My Dad, Phillip L. Smoot Sr. served in Vietnam from 1965-66. I am grateful for his heroism and sacrifice. Special salute to all the Veterans.
Part of his service included cold weather training in The Big Delta, Alaska for 30 days. He has a Polar Bear training card that listed the temperature as sub 59 degrees.
My Dad was in the C Battery 1st Howser Battalion 30th Artillery.
