Hillcrest Avenue features some of the most creative Halloween decorations in Louisville.
I took my nieces and nephew on a walking tour between Frankfort Ave and Brownsboro Rd. Chloe and Trinity were extremely excited while CJ hid from the yard haunts. Once he realized it was make believe, he eased up on my coat tail.
The Hillcrest Ave residents go all out. Some of the children would play dead and jump up to scare people.
They had props in trees falling down as crowds passed on the sidewalks.
I got a kick out of the Haunted Derby House with it’s twin spires, bone jockeys, and millionaire’s row.
I was surprised at the level of detail the residents put into their homes. All they asked for in return were canned food donations.
This is a very worthwhile experience if you are in the Louisville area.
I saved the best decorations for last. The creator incorporated a few health and safety guidelines which could lead to disastrous situations if not followed.
Trick or treat!
