Upon my return from Birmingham, I learned about the passing of my 17 yr old nephew, Lil Jay.
As much as I want to hang up the towel and take a break from everything, I know I can find some comfort in running. It’s healthy and free therapy as I learn how to cope with the realization that I will never see Lil Jay or hear his voice again.
My heart aches…
A friend sent me this today:
I remember:
♡ Magic Kingdom
♡ Universal Studios
♡ Clearwater Beach
♡ The dog you named “Soda” because you didn’t know how to pronounce “Toto.”
♡ How you called Maya’s gerbil “the rat”
♡ You just knew you could Harlem Shake.
♡ The poor, crushed hermit crab.
♡ You had some rapping skills.
♡ You were the baby out of the older grandkids and stayed under the radar.
REST IN HEAVEN, LIL JAY
7/2/97 – 2/23/15
Love Always 😇

Oh, sweetie!! I am so sorry. Running is good therapy…and you do what you need to do. This breaks my heart. ((HUGS)) We need to get together, for real.
